Pocket projector beams with lasers
Researchers at Lemoptix, a spin-off from the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, have developed a miniature projector in collaboration with Maher Kayal Laboratory. The light source for the tiny projector consists of three semiconductor lasers that generate the primary colours red, green and blue. The imaging component is a micro electromechanical system (MEMS) that uses microscopic mirrors to reflect the red, green and blue laser beams.
