Maxim launches 16-channel high-voltage switches

Maxim Integrated Products has introduced its third generation of 230-V switches: the MAX14805 and MAX14806 16-channel, high-voltage SPST devices. Each device has two banks with eight channels each, controlled by two logic inputs for easy operation and design flexibility. Maxim's proprietary HVCMOS technology enables the devices to combine high-voltage bilateral DMOS switches and low-power CMOS logic for efficient control of high-voltage analogue signals.

The MAX14806 also has integrated 40 kΩ bleed resistors to discharge capacitive loads, such as piezoelectric transducers. These features eliminate expensive and bulky discrete circuitry on each analogue switch terminal, thereby reducing costs and cutting board space by as much as 60%.

With their fast switching times (5 μs) and high channel density architecture, the MAX14805 and MAX14806 are well suited to portable and console-based ultrasound devices, non-destructive testing (NDT) equipment, industrial sensors, and other applications that need to switch high-voltage signals.
The MAX14805 and MAX14806 support a wide range of  high supply voltages for design flexibility. They can operate with Vnn from -160 V to 0 V and Vpp from
